Hi Folks, can anybody tell me how to tell what level to fill the final drives on Farmall A? I don't see any fill plugs! Your help is appreciated!

Big Fred explains it well. I might add a useful suggestion that someone on this board passed on to me. Run the oil level a little low so it's below the gasket level and leaks less. There is still plenty of oil circulating.

The level and fill plugs are the same plug. It is about an inch or so above the bottom of the final drive casting on the inside (toward the center of the tractor). I think it is a 1 inch pipe plug. Fill with 90W to that level. There is no drain plug, and the gasket surface is under the level of the oil, so make sure you didn't leave any of the pan bolts loose. It's a real good idea to replace the gaskets every time you change the final drive lube also, I think they were about $2.50 each at my Case/IH parts place
