I have a '35 F12 with the dual fuel gas tank that is the tank inside a tank style. Now I don't plan on running this tractor on kerosene so I will obviously just fill the big tank with gas and so what should I do about the small tank. I don't want it to rust out from just sitting there or should I fill it with gas and just open both petcocks when running.....small dilema.

I use the little tank on mine more than the big one. However, both petcocks drip a little, so I don't usually leave gas in the tanks for any time at all.

The only wrong thing to do is to half fill a tank with gas. That causes heating and cooling of the air above it and causes condensation, then rust. Leaving it empty will not cause it to rust out.

If you open both petcocks and put gas into one tank, the gas will equalize levels in both tanks resulting in a half full condition that will cause condensation like I mentioned.

I would just leave one shut off and use the other.
