Thanks to everyone here for all the input to the discussion group about PB Blaster and other ideas to unstick a piston!! I can't say for sure that the PB Blaster did the trick or if it was a combination of things but I am extremely happy about getting the engine unstuck. I took the pan off today after I got off work and disconnected the rod from the crank. I then applied up pressure on the piston rod using a 2x2 piece of oak and a jack. Nothing happened but to raise the front of the tractor so I removed the jack and took a shorter piece of oak and a good sized hammer to push down on the piston. It seemed like it moved some so I took a measurement from the piston top to the top of the sleeve. After a few more blows with the hammer and the oak 2x2, I measured and sure enough progress was made. Once again I applied up pressure with the jack and tapped on a board that was placed across the top of the sleeve. A measurment proved to me that the piston did move up. Repeated application of the PB Blaster and movement up and down with the piston is working and it is much easier to move the now.

It started to rain about that time so I had to quit working on the tractor but I am sure glad to know that everything is going to work out.

Thanks again everyone.

Bob

Great feeling isn't it! Your troubles are however
far from over with that tractor.
