McCormick Deering 1020

I decited to put rings in my 1020 i pulled off the cylinder head and oil sump and tried to push out the pistons and the bottom of the connecting rods hit the sleves. what is the best way to get the pistons out, and i also have a 22-36 is it going to be the same? i need help

I have never worked on 10 20 but I would guess they would come out the bottom. If the piston won't fit through the crankshaft push piston down far enough to get connecting rod lose and then push the piston itself out the top.

I have never taken them out myself, but I have heard mention that they have to come out the bottom. I dont know about the 22-36. Rob
