Discovered this would-be hitch hiker tucked in between the remote 4-way valve and the gas tank support on my Super M this morning. She flew when I tried for a 2nd shot, leaving behind a hatchling and two eggs. I had planned to pressure wash a winter's worth of mud and oil off the tractor today - in deference to my wife and daughters, the wash has been postponed a couple weeks...

If the SM is tuned up properly, maybe she'll go along for the ride? :-)

Tyler - turns out the eggs (less Mrs Robin...) did several laps of my mother in law's garden a week ago while we pulled a cultimulcher with the tractor. Didn't discover the nest until I reached in to turn off the gas when I put the tractor away. I guess the robin was on the nest as soon as it was cool enough to go back under the hood!

Before my dad started parking his Farmall 230 in a fully enclosed shed a few years ago, a wren would build a nest under the seat almost every year.

I've had birds try to build a nest on my H before but fortunately I was able to remove it before any eggs got laid. They can be persistant devils as once they start in a spot, they'll keep trying to build for a week or two before they give up and go somewhere else.

I remember one time, my dad was in the shed, when he heard strange noises coming from inside his Gleaner L2 combine. He found the neighbor's cat and a litter of kittens!

Had a robin build in the tool box under the seat on my Super C. We both got a little startled the first time I sat down on the seat.Just like at your place I was made to wait till the hatch before I could play.
