I have an Farmall H with a 6V voltage regulator mounted on the generator. Everything seems to work ok (charging of about 4-5 Amp)untill i stop the engine. Then the ammeter shows a discharge of 20 Amp ! As soon as i disconnect the - pole of the battery i hear a click in the regulator. When i connect the - pole then again the discharging has stopped. The wiring is as follows:
Generator F to Regulator DF
Generator A to Regulator D+
Regulator B+ via ammeter to - pole battery
The 6V battery is positive grounded. Can anybody help me ? Thank you very much in advance.

The RCR in the reg. sticks. Take the hood off and tap the reg. and see if it changes.
