I have a 1939 A Farmall that is original without the starter cutout in the bell housing. We have been using it at some evening events that headlights would be a real plus. I want to leave it original without a starter and battery, but then it occured to me that one of the Bosch no-battery lighting generators would be just the thing. I hear they are as rare as hen's teeth in this country. Does anybody know where I could find one, in rebuildable condition?

From what I understand they were not an option in the US.. The 39 A wouldn't have even come out with them as they are an option for tractors built after 41. For correctness, early tractors with no lights would have come with a battery, generator, light switch, switch box, lights, etc, but no starter. The ground strap would have been different also
