Went to the NTA show over the weekend in Wauseon Ohio. It's usually a nice show and this year featured Case steamers. Here's a picture of a 110 HP Case steamer, VERY impressive piece of old iron. I think next year is supposed to feature Rumely/Oil-Pull.

If you like smoke, steam, tractors and machinery of all kinds, Rough & Tumble Engineers Historical Association will hold it's 53rd annual Old Threshermens Reunion August 15,16,17,18 2001 in Kinzers, PA. Frick, Geiser-Peerless, Sawyer-Massey, Case, Rumely, IH, Titans, Mogols, and even a few of those funny sounding green tractors too (if you're into that sort of thing). IH collectors chapter 8 usually has a nice display of IH items other than tractors too.

Men, any of you who like steamers and old 'heavy' gas tractors, should try to make the show at Rollag, Minnesota, held every year at Labor Day weekend. Yeah, it's kinda "out of the way" up there in northwestern Minn., but they have some of the biggest steamers and gas tractors of that era, and they use 'em like they did when they were the way of life. I don't mean to take anything away from the Wauseon Show, I live less than 50 miles from there and have been going to that show since 1948 when it was held at Blaker's farm at Alvordon, Ohio. My Grand-dad used to take his 30-60 Oil Pull there when we were still using it to sawmill with. But the Minnesota show is really good-they are a long established group(Western Minnesota Steam Thresher's Reunion) and their show has everything you'ld want to see-static and working. I started this with "Men", but Girls, there's an awful lot in that show for you too--whether you sew, or like to fill a firebox while your engine is on the prony brake--or both.

And starting next Saturday and running until the 4th is the "Southeast Old Thresher's Reunion in Denton, NC. One very large event. Last year they had about 4 or 5 of those steamers. I'm going and can't wait!

For some years at Denton, a Rumely Oil-Pull 30-60 was used to pull 8 bottom plow. For last few years, Aultman-Taylor 30-60 has been used. The show park owns the Aultman-Taylor. Nicest people there that one could ever find in a crowd. Have kept all my dates open (won't go on Sunday) so that I can choose the one with best weather forecast. About 1 1/2 hour drive for me.
