Some time ago I posted a message about my Electrall that had a home-made chain drive setup on it that went bad. I never got any replies about a suitable replacement gearbox so here's what I did. I got two 3-speed manual transmissions from a junkyard (out of AMC Javelins, they tell me) and put them in series to get the required reduction and then mounted them on the input shaft. And, then, of course, painted them red. It works really well and is much quieter.

Am I looking at it right? The transmissions are hooked up to increase PTO speed for the generator, right? Looks like a good fab. job there.

I think it is a classical example of good old-fashioned American ingenuity. Great looking power unit there!
