What is the best way to try to break loose a motor on an m. It shouldn't be stuck real bad but who knows. Got any ideas?

Al feel free to poke around at the pictures below. I finally got the pistons/sleeves assemblies out but the pistons themselves are still stuck in the sleeves. If the engine has any kind of wear on it, the PB Blaster will probably work around the rings in time. Pull the starter out to make sure it isn't hung up on a tooth of the ring gear.

Red, Thanks a lot we'll try it. We aren't quite ready to start on it yet but I want to get it soaking now so maybe it'll be loose when we are. It was my grandads tractor now it belongs to me and my 11 year old soon. He's about to die to get it to run so gotta start soon. I really like your pictures. I know they will help. Thanks again

You are welcome Al. Squirt LOTS of PB Blaster in each cylinder.

When did it last run?
How long do you think it was stuck?
Did water get into the manifold?

Red, Its been 10 or 12 years since it run. Dont know how long its been stuck and it probably did get a little water in the manifold but it couldn't have been much. thanks again

Al I would go for the juggler and pull that head off and see what kind of corrosion you have in the piston/ sleeve area and let us know. Leave the manifold on to give you leverage when you pull up that head. I would recommend a second set of hands. The M head is very heavy!!

Remove the plugs and put some PB Blaster in the cylinders. While waiting for it to work review The Red's progress with his old rusty H - he could probably give you some pointers! Let us know what works - Fireman
