Thanks to all of you who responded to my question about using a muffler vs. straight pipe.
First of all, I compared running the tractor with
the muffler and then the pipe, and it ran equally
well with both. It is definitely LOUD with the
pipe. About half of you said that your hearing
should be of some value, and since I have some
hearing problems already, I will stick to the muffler, even tho' I like looks of the pipe better. Thanks again for all your input.

Hey Bruce, I have one of each, and I have found my head feels better when I wear a cheap set of ear plugs regardless of what I'm running. I even mow my yard with them. I'm just 38 and noticed I have to ask people to repeat what they said far to much. Don't know if its the tractors or to much Lynyrd Skynyrd when I was in high school.

Nice looking C Paul
If you have not heard or have Lynyrd Skynyrd "live from Steel town" done in about 1998.
I think it is a must have. Johnny VanZant sounds almost better than Ronny did. But the band is much more sober and seasoned than 25 years ago.
Former Backfoot and outlaws players were in the show. I think they liked Farmalls too!

Hey 790, did ya know that Ricky Medlocke, the the guitar player from Blackfoot who is now in Skynyrd, was the drummer on the 1st (3) demos Skynyrd ever cut? Johnny is almost as good, I have seen 'em every year since the first reunion in '87 when Donnie sang with 'em!!!! Keep rockin!!! Pete

I Don't remember that Medlock did the demo's but knew they have all known each other a long time.
I had tickets to the concert in Spokane. But there plain Crashed the month before. I have never seen them live. Would like to.
It is quite amazing what they have accomplished since that fatal crash. Great to hear there are still big Fans out there. Long live Rock!

Paul, Nice C! Why did ya stop listening to Skynyrd when ya left HS? I'm 38, only thing I enjoy more than my antique tractors is listeng to or watching Lynyrd Skynyrd (well...there ARE a couple of other things...hehe)! I prefer a muffler on ALL of my four cylinders both for looks and sound, now my two cylinders with a straight pipe...that's a different story!!!! I still hear pretty well too! Pete

I never quit on Skynyrd, sure is better than some of the stuff you here today. I just don't turn it up till the windows shake anymore. My wife just bought me a 3 cd set of all of there best stuff. A few of the songs on them are demos that I dont think had been released before.Back to tractors, I try to include my son Blake in all of my tractor stuff so that he may grow up to love the things of the past like I do. He likes Skynyrd also. We are showing the old C in the Ozark Empire fair next weekend here in Springfield so we have spent a lot of time shineing the old girl up.
Rock on

Paul and 790, Rock on!!!! That Skynyrd Box set is wonderful. Congrats on raising your son right! Our Super C is completely torn down in the garage right now, she started fouling plugs at the begining of this show/pull season and we decided it was time for a major! Having to do the shows without any red ones right now, the Super H is in mid resto, and the Super M has not been started yet, The JD 70 and the 2N Ford entertain us for now!!! Pete
