Couple of quick disk brake questions...The SH is getting some badly needed brake service. I have everything apart and aside from lots of rust and glazing of the brake pads and braking surfaces, everything looks ok...not great, but I think I can salvage everything but 1 disk where the pad seperated from the disk due to rust. The question is, how much pad is on NEW disks??? I have about 1/8-3/16" on the remaining pads, but what should new one ones have?? Also...the cast iron braking surfaces are pitted..not bad in some places, but not good in some others. I have cleaned them up with a sanding disk on a drill (poor man's milling machine), and the look OK. I'm going to hit the whole assembly with the sandblaster (except for the disks and balls) to clean everything and make sure I have the glaze off everything. Is there anything else I should do? Thanks for the help...BB
