I'm not sure when the old style was changed to the new style...it probably was a running change so it is probably possible to find an old style on the Super H (or maybe a new style on a regular H). My Super H is serial number 26160 (Late in the production run) and it has the new style. I have seen series I machines with the new style, so I don't know when the change was made. Based on pictures I have seen of the old style and comparing them to my new style front, I'm pretty sure that you would have to replace the whole assembly. So to answer your question, I would keep the old style on your Super H. That is kind of a unique combination. If your SH is an early series I machine, it may well be original. As expensive as original Wide fronts are now, I wouldn't want you to butcher a good original. Someone may trade with you, but as far as I can tell, the originals are running from $600-$1000 or more for good ones, either new or old style. Be happy!! BB
