Where is your voltage regulator or cutoff located?

Bob punch below. The hot wire from the starter post goes on the left amp post with the gauge facing down. The right post has the coil wire, the wire to the light switch and the wire from the bat. terminal of the voltage regulator/cuttout. The very bottom wire is the wire from the field post on the generator.

The gen post on the regulator should be wired to the gen post on the generator. The field post on the regulator should be wired to the f post on the generator.

To polarize the generator, with the tractor shut down, momentarily jump a wire, to get a spark, between the bat post on the regulator to the gen post on the generator.

Good luck!

Red-Thanks for replying. I couldn't get your pix to come up. Is the wiring any different with a mag? Thanks-Bob

I will email you a picture. Been having problems with Photopoint membership. They might have banned me from tagging.

The mag is completely separate from the ignition.
