I just started on a 22-36. The manifold is original, but it is in poor shape. It is set up for gasoline or kerosene. I was wondering what would be the best option.
1.Find an original replacement in better condition.
2. Find an after market manifold for gasoline only.
3. Have a weldor repair cracks in the one I have.
4. Braze the cracks and call it good.
5. Put JB weld in cracks and call it good.
I am wanting it for my own enjoyment and it might be used up to 20 hrs./ year.
Please give me input on the best way to proceed. Thanks.

BJ- Glad to see a post from someone saving the REALLY old iron. I have my eye on a 22-36 in the weeds at a neighbors, (to keep my 'H' company). Keep us posted here on your progress! I know a repo manifold is probably expensive, but that is the way I would go. Especially if you have steel wheels, things get knocked around pretty good and I don't know if I would want to trust JB Weld or brazing, after getting the manifold all hooked up and working good. Was/is your 22-36 stuck? What else have you had to do to it? Any pictures? Good luck! Paul+

The engine is stuck presently. I expect when I get the head off, it will be easy enough to free. The trans. will turn as I pulled 1 mile to my barn. My main problem is it missing the water pump and fan assembly. It is on cut-off wheels dating from 1939. I would like to put it on steel if I can find a set. I just finished a 1927 Farmall Regular, but it was running when I started.
