Super M tune up failed

I have been trying to tune my dad's super M and after points, condensor, cap, rotor, plug wires, and cleaning up the plugs, it still runs really rough. It seems to run smooth at slow idle, but runs really rough with any throtle or load ( as little load as driving in 4th or 5th gear). Anyone have any ideas as to what else I should check?

Thanks,
Brad

Thanks to all !!! It turns out, plugs and wires did it in the end.

Apparently it has enough compression to start and run. It could have all the compression ever needed and if the plugs are bad, it still wouldn't run right. ( compression doesn't make sparks)
good luck

Did you check the timing (using a timing light)? If that's OK, I'd adjust the main jet on the carb. (sounds as though you might be too lean) and try new plugs in that order.

Points set too close would do this. I would try new plugs also. Then enrich the carburetor a little at a time if still needed.

In the electrical area, what sparkplugs are you using? Is this coil ignition or magneto system?

Adjust the air and fuel mix on carb.....
if it lopes at 1/2 throttle it a gasket problem on carb(sucking air)....only turn screws 1/8 to 1/4 at a time when running and should hear the difference....
