Got a 1959 340 Utility, and I bought the book on IH Tractors from 1955 - 1985 by
Kenneth Updike, great book. I figured out
the colors of everything, except for the
rims, sometimes they show the back as silver
and red and the front as all red. Others
are White? I give up?? I know the dash was
grey... Funny thing mine are painted White,
but underneath they are red and silver for the
back, but I'm not sure.

I'm just answering from memory here, but as I recall, the Utility models and the Farmall models of that time were not done exactly the same. You have to be careful of which tractors you look at for the pattern. I think the utilities had white rear wheel disks and white front wheels. The rear rims were galvanized/silver.

Jim, they were cream color not white, the Utility had the cream color on the front, the row crop had the red (2150IH) on the front rims. I like the cream color better so I used it on my 340D along with the IH silver on the rear, the red make it look to plain to me. Just me two cents Charlie V aka F20II :o)

BOY That sure looks like My loader on My Super H. What model/brand is it? My loader is a remodeled Ford from about 1957 vintage. I can't remember the model #, but it still has the serial # tag on it.

The white is not white-white like a refrigerator. Krylon antique white is a very good match. But it is not cream. Harvester cream was used years earlier, mostly on wheels, but is a very different color.
