I found an old A sitting behind a barn, I think the owner will sell but I need some info first.
1- What is a easy way to tell if it has the larger engine and if it is a Super A.
2-It has a hydraulic unit but not fast hitch, how easy is it to convert to 3 point.
3- One entire rear wheel is missing, will the backing plate and wheel from my cub fit so I can get it on the trailer. Thanks in advance, Bob

I think the only way to be sure it is a Super A is to check the actual serial number. My Super A just has the FAA prefix. Production started in 1947 with serial number 250001. The plate is on a support under the seat.

answers:

1. Check s/n. FAA is Farmall A FASA is Super A.

2.It is likely to be a Super A since it has hyd, but I never tried to put a 3-point on it.

3. The outer rim would fit, but the inner one may not. A's are 6 bolt I dont know about Cubs.

I believe you're mistaken on the serial #. My 48 Super A has a serial # of FAA 250726. It has hydraulics and a square outer front axle with the stabilizer brace back to the clutch housing.
