I need to replace the front wheel hubs and bearings on my C. It is a narrow front. Does anyone know of a good place to find the hubs for a reasonable price? Also, where is a good safe jack point for lifting both front wheels.
Thanks.

Just change one wheel at a time. Drive one wheel up on a block of wood. Also, try to get the numbers off of the bearings and try to get them from napa or autozone or whatever-just did mine and saved about $20 per wheel by matching the bearings.

The reason that I want to replace them is that one of the hubs is broken badly.

Aaron, Try the classified ads, left margin, this page. Someone will have spare hubs for sale. I have had good luck with classified ads.

What is wrong with your hubs? Unless they are broken or the bearing races have spun there shouldn't be anything wrong with them. The bearing races you should be able to replace. You simply pound them out or press them out and most generally the new races will come with new bearings. If they don't you should be able to get them seperately.

Aaron - You can safely jack the front of your tractor by locating a bottle jack under the clutch housing. Be sure to block both rear wheels and set the brakes however!

Bearing/seals are industry standard. Get the numbers off the old parts and have your local bearing house cross them for you - they'll be cheaper there than at a C-IH dealer.
