Brad the engine serial number is below the #1 spark plug. Most of the time that number and the frame number were the same if the engine hadn't been changed out. Also look at the major cast iron pieces. There will be a date tag on the major pieces which will show month, day, and a letter for the year. Let us know what letter is on the major pieces.

Following your instructions I came up with this:
Cylinder Head serial# BKM 36318. It might also be BM 36318 the middle letter was not easy to read.
The main gear housing casting has 6-19-K on it.
The rear axle shaft housing castings are 6-24-K & 10-22-K. I also found a tag on the cylinder Head that had the number 2-12-K on it. If this can help me out with the year it was made it will be of great help. I appreaciate anyones help.
If anyone knows , can you put the stepped head pistons in this engine when you resleeve it and if so do you have to have the head reworked for clearance?
thanks guys.

Red, Thanks for the info now I can get started dismantling and tagging for the restoration. I plan to make it a usable show tractor. I spent many hours as a youth on H's & M's working for my uncle and neighbors and I inherited this one when my step father passed on. I guess a 48 year old kid needs another toy!
Thanks Brad.
