Some guy's have all the luck I worked 11 to 7 last night came home and went to bed this morning and got up to go in for 3 to 11 at 2:00 and found a Super C sitting in front of my shop, didn't have time then to look at it but did when I got home at 11:30, according to the serial number it's a 1953 with a front blade\snow plow with good tires but a poor paint job, took it for a little ride tonight and the rear end and tranny seem quiet runs good no motor noise that I can hear of over the loud exhaust needs battery cables and a new battery steering seems fairly tight.
What I would like to know is what a Super C is worth in average condition, I'm gonna be storing it over winter with the option to buy in the spring of the year, will say this much it looks good parked next to my 1950 H and my sons 1953 Cub.
One other question I assume on the serial number plate it won't say Super or have an "S", this one has FC for a model and 167855J for a serial number and according to the serial numbers list here it's a 1953 Super C.
Thanks for any input in advance.

In NE Ohio, yours sounds like a $15-1700 machine, as I've seen them go.

Bob, around here a Super C like that would fetch $1500 to $1800. The Cubs, As, and Ford Ns are the ones that fetch the big bucks here; it's not uncommon to see Cubs and As selling for $2200-$3000 and Ns selling for as much as $3600.

I paid $1800 for a SC in 97 that needed a lot of work. At that time there were no SC's for sale in this area so I bought the first one I came across. I completely restored and repainted that tractor and then found a perfect one that only needed paint for $1100. It didn't have even a single dent and runs like a watch. Since then I have seen them advertised for as much as $2750. Guess it depends on who is selling and what the buyer is willing to pay.

Bob, the J means it has a Rockford clutch, which is the heavier duty of the 2 options. It will not have an S in the serial number. As was already said here, an SC with quick hitch is one of the most handy tractors you will find. It will do 90% of the work your straight H will do, and be a little handier about it. Out of all our tractors, the SC is everyones 1st choice for most chores...although the AC D10 we just got may vie for that title after it is completed. $1800 to $2350 here in Upstate NY if it has quick hitch, up to $2750 if it looks as good as it runs, Pete

Bob - I would say prices vary from $1000 to $2500 as a ballpark figure. If they need cleaning, metal straightening, tune up, but complete, they sell on the lower end at auctions that I see.
The extra clean, smooth runners, no damage ones
on the upper side. This is out west anyway.
Doesn't the letter J in your serial number mean some kind of clutch, or pistons in the engine ?
Someone else probably can tell you..... ...
I have 2 Super C's - one of the most versatile tractors for light work I think, and, with a fast hitch, I would rather have them than an H !!
