I have always learned on main and rod bearings that the locks line up. But, on a BD-154 in my 3444 the mains will not go on lineing them up. The rods will. My I&T manual don't show neither. Can some one tell me somthing on this?? I sure don't want to spin a bearing.

The main bearing caps on those if I remember correctly, go opposite each other. That engine being an English version. If you clean the main cap you should find a number stamped into it, although they were really a light mark, hard to see. Also a mark up in block corresponding to it. On the connecting rod, their should be a number stamped on ground flat away from crank journal, cap should have corresponding mark.Good luck.
