Sorry to bother you guys, I stumbled thru 467 hits on the archives for this but never did find it. I've got a good friend with a '48 H, 6 volt positive ground, coil ignition, voltage regulator up by the tank. He can't get it to charge and I told him I'd see what I could do out here. I found the diagram for the voltage reg on the generator but never did find this particular set-up. Could someone post or e-mail me one...we'd sure appreciate it. If you e-mail, please put Farmall H or something in the title, I'm deleting anything I don't recognize right off with that damn virus killing everybody's machine. Thanks to you guys and Kim for a helluva site.

Baggsy - Punch below. If the H you're working on has a 4-terminal voltage regulator, this diagram should be what you need....

Great Diagram.

I just rewired a 55 Cub I just bought and altered this diagram just a bit. Instead of taking the power supply that goes to the light switch directly from the fuse, I attached it to the Run side of the ignition switch. This way, the lights can only be on when the ignition switch is on and it will be a lot harder to accidently turn the tractor off and leave the lights on.

Anyone know of a downside to this minor change? I couldn't think of any.

This looks like a pretty generic diagram. I assume it is basically the same whether 6 or twelve volt with a generator/regualtor system? I have '41 H converted to a 12 volt generator/regulator system.

Is there a similar diagram available for a system that has a magnito and a 12 volt alternator config. I have a '39 H set up this way. The button switch has only one terminal which makes me think the ground for the switch must be the switch body itself? Not sure how the wiring was done. Some was just hanging loose when I bought this treasure.

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. I'd like to get both these tractors running. Not sure why I bought them. It seemed like a good idea at the time. Now I'm not so sure.

Bob, that's a great diagram for the super H. Where did that come from? Would like to find the same for a 560 diesel. Thanks, Ron

Ron - That diagram is a CAD dwg I created from a sketch I made when I rewired my Super H. Unfortunately I don't have drawings for anything more recent than "Super" series tractors. However if you locate a 560 diagram and can send me a copy, I'll be glad to add it to my collection to share with others. ...Bob M
