I,m posting for a old timer down the road that has his grandfathers 1020. we got it running last weekend. had been sitting 35 years, the old guy turned crank every so often, so she was not frozen. clutch was though froze, the 656 pulled it and got it unstuck- all we did is put gas in and give her a tow. where can the oldtimer find a side hood and other parts? I'm a Deere guy but wow! 35years and fired up in 20 feet. I'm Impressed. get parts???

Hey Big John - Your story reminded me of a Super C I had that ran terrible !! I had a couple of guys who said they knew lots, try to adjust points and to use certain plugs....still after an hour or 2, ran BAD. Dad told me to widen the points a little more on these older engines, so I took dist. cap off...eyeballed it and widened them slightly, put in D-21 Champion plugs (I think) and it runs the BEST for 2 years now !!
Dads know a lot, huh??? And, mine is gonna
be 89 July 4'th.....its just a good feeling to get these old tractors to stay runnin' and use them, ain't it ????? ?
