This is my neighbor's '49 Super A. I'm not sure what this valve is for and he doesn't have any manuals. Is this for a remote hydraulic hook-up? It operates off the lever which I have circled.

Thanks Bob, Haas and all. I hadn't ever seen a unit like that either, but I thought it was for a remote. Thanks again!

Bob, which manual did that picture come out of? Was it the standard Super A operator's manual or was it the accessory and implement manual. I'd kinda like to get that for my neighbor for Christmas.

It's a spool valve to operate a remote hydraulic cylinder. As the others said it was an option. I've seen it in the manuals and also a few times in pictures, but never have I actually seen one. I think they are not very common. The hydraulic manifold from pump to the touch control is different than on the Super A without this option. So the option not only included the valve and operating rod, but also the different manifold.

It is for remote hydraulics. Remote hydraulics was an Farmall option with the Super A. I've never seen a Super A with it before...I don't mean to imply it's rare, I don't know one way or the other, I've just never seen it on a Super A before. I recently hooked up a remote installation for my Super A that I made myself, but I wish my remote was made by Farmall.

That valve is for the hydraulics and the lever is part of it (in some cases, the touch control system.) It would lift the cultivators if it is hooked up right.
