could someone tell me what the D & TA stands for on the shift pattern on a 460

If your brakes are not good, be careful when running with the torque amplifier pulled back...the tractor engine cannot slow you down, at least mine doesn't.

yes d is for drive and ta is for ta. if you look real close at the emblem you will see that the d-ta is not connected to the shift pattern. i remember my first experience with a 560...spent almost a whole day trying to figure out where those two extra gears were lol.

I'm not at home so I can't go look but I believe that it isn't so much to do with the shift pattern as it has to do with the positipon of the TA lever on the left hand side of the seat. They just put it on the shift pattern plate. With the lever forward the 460 is in direct drive and with the lever pulled back it is in a gear reduction or Torque Amplifier (TA).
