I just came across a 48 H with an 8 1/2 Lilliston pull type mower. The H is in what I would call excellent condition, sound good, no smoke. Tires like new, good paint. Asking $1500. What do you think???
BTW I'm in Kansas City if that makes a difference.

Brian

Hope you have already brought the "H". Sounds like a good buy ! If it's in the shape you say it's in, don't believe you would get hurt !

Including the mower and good tires, I would say $1,500 is not excessive for cental Indiana.

my friend, the tires alone are worth $300-400,and new tires would be at least $500. If someone gave you a tractor you had to rebuild, you'd put more in it than that just to rebuild it. The mower is a "gift." Sounds like a prize. Do yourself a favor and pull the starter, and take a look at the starter drive gears. You'd hate to have to tear down that beauty just for ring gear in a few months. Particularly if it has been converted to 12V which really zings the old 6V starter. If your starter drive is bad (really cut-up gear teeth), new replacement would be about $50. Lucky man. Good luck.

That tractor is priced at least a $1000 less than it would go for in Pa. With a mowerdeck yet, grab it quick.

An H near me in S TX with drag shredder for $1500
also; have not seen it but would bet that it does
not have nice paint and like new tires. Any kind
of running or almost running tractor brings
1000+ minimum around here and usually tires are very worn.

It sounds like a great deal to me. I paid $2000
for a Farmall 300 that was in fair shape and it
did not have a mower.
