Thanks to all who have given advice on my Super A starting problems. Still not starting yet. Here's the latest:Problems started after I tore down the front and replaced a leaking front seal. I went ahead and replaced bad wiring, new lights, fluids, battery. Would start and die within a few minutes. Rebuilt carb (Zenith). Same problem. Found sediment in line. Replaced in-line filter and fuel line and sediment bowl (due to leak). No help. Suspected condensor. Replaced condensor, points, plugs, rotor, cap. Now no fire at all! Retraced everything and came up the same. Gave up and took carb and mag with coil to IH service center for them to test. They set the points, found where the condensor may have been grounding out but everything else was okay. To test, I grounded a plug against the frame and turned over the ignition and no spark. Tried this with all plugs. Plug wires are okay. Set timing correct I think. Rechecked the gap on the points and it looks good. Ran new temporary jumper wires (10 gauge) to every lead (generator, starter and coil). No spark. Suspected (a long shot here) bad ignition switch. Thought I could run a wire from the negative pole of the battery (6 volt positive ground) to the coil on the mag to bypass the ignition switch. Coil smoked and I burned the lead running from the condensor to the points. Was this a mistake? WHAT AM I DOING WRONG HERE? Should not be this complicated. Help! Wishing I could go back to a leaking front seal.... Bob
