I'm a new "cultivision" convert. Got a 140 with FH. What's the difference in rear cultivators, ie. with FH and without FH? I'm looking at a complete set on ebay.....thanks in advance...BobG in VA

Thanks for the responses so far. Based on what I'm hearing I believe the rear cult brackets that fit into the final drives are the same for both FH and non FH. Real difference is in the lift spring arms that attach to the FH pins or the rockshaft??? BobG in VA

The attaching pads that work for the fast hitch will have two holes on either pad. One hole is used for the fast hitch and the other hole will be used for the gang arm for the cultivator. You dont have to disconnect the fast hitch to attach the gang arm. The deeper/wider hole is used for the gang arm.

If you go with the pad like on a Super A then it only has one hole. It aint made for the fast hitch, just for cultivating.

Either attaching pad will work for the cultivators.

The pad for the 140 uses three stud bolts to attach it to the final drive. The Super A pad just uses the two bottom stud bolts.

If you have the attaching pads for the 140 then just use it. I think they are more stout and who knows you may want that fast hitch some day.

The right attaching pad for the Super A is a discontinued item. Least thats what they told me after I bought the last one at Case. I didnt check on the left hand pad. Cost $130.00 per pad.

The rear cultivators are the same except for the brackets that attach to the final drives and to the rear lift rockshaft. The Fast hitch fiinal drive brackets have holes for the bars of the cultivator to slide into. If you are looking at a super a cultivator for you Fast Hitch 140, I think all you need to worry about is the bracket to attach to the rear rockshaft. You will end up with extra brackets for the final drives and an extra cross bar for the rockshaft. I'd be interested in buying these parts, as I am converting a cultivator to use on a 140 that formerly had Fast hitch. Also would consider selling you the complete cultivator set for the 140 with Fast Hitch.

I can see only two things that would be differant on one with a fast hitch and one without and thats only a minor differance. The attaching pads might be differant and the pressure rods might be differant.

With the fast hitch they use a bail bracket that the gang arms fit in. If you didnt have that you would have to get one or use an attaching pad like a Super A has.

There are two kinds of hitch adjusting links on the pressure rods. Not much differance but one has an eye bolt kind of set collar and the other has a oval opening that a rod or pin fits thru.

The 144 cultivator manual covers the differant set ups.

the rear tooling will go on the fast hitch. there were several different set-ups as amount and type of shovels or spring tooth stuff. mite want to get a manual for the 140 cults then you can see what was avail probably will find their location in the tobaco belt so freight will be another item to think about.
