A "Just Short of War" tractor! (See Morrison's "The Two Ocean War" if you don't know what that means and still believe, as so many do, that the United States was totally and completely at peace with Germany before Pearl Harbor.)

I agree about the prices. Especially about the tires.

Wheels are important, to. They should be true (no "wobble") and the rims should be good with no dents or flat spots.

My Super C is partially restored; new engine, clutch, and carb, but I haven't rebuilt the steering gear or governor yet.

The tires have little wear, just a little dry rot after thirty years.

Back when it still had the original engine, I was driving it back home from the Case dealer after asking them a few question about it. A man I'd never seen before followed me for a mile or so, listening to it run uphill in road gear at a good seven-mile-an-hour clip.

Then he pulled me over and said, "I'll give you $1200 dollars for it right now."

I grinned. "Sorry, it's not for sale." (It's a legacy tractor and has been in the family since new.)

He frowned. "Well, then," he said, "How much for just the tires?"
