I have a few questions about restoring a 1206 to stock...
1. Did the 1206 have a step on the right side of the drivers station?
2. Is the lettering TURBO trimmed in gold or black?
3. Did some 1206 tractors have the block number 1206 decal in white lettering instead of the metal emblem?
4. Did all 1206 tractors have the McCormick FARMALL emblem, or did some read International?
5. The front wheel hubs, are the painted red or white, seems like the hubs are painted white, with the grease cap being painted to red only?

1. The first 1206"s were built in July of 1965 and they did not have a right hand step, hand rail, or a grab hole in the right fender.
2. The correct Turbo decal should be trimmed in gold.
3. The early 1965 1206 tractors did have a decal because the metal number plates were not ready at the time that the first tractors came out.
4. Farmall was the rowcrop version and International was the Wheatland and Industrial version. (Very few industrials as far as I know).
5. I can not be sure but I believe that the entire hub was red and only the front rim was white.

The 1206 is a classic looking tractor and always will be!

The 65s model had the 1206 decal with diesel under it and the turbo sign was all white and the side pannel was black with white Farmall or International with the McCormick above them. The hubs where white with a red center caps. The 66,67 came with the emblem. My two 1206s have steps on the right.

I am not exactly the guru of originality here, but I will give the answers as best as I can from memory:
1) It may or may not, it seems to me that it was optional
2)The turbo is a decal and should be white with a black trim.
3)I believe there were three options for this. The earliest models had the all silver plate like the 806 and 706 had. The next set of tractors had a set of gold plates for the model number. The last set, as you mentioned, had a white decal where the plate had been. I looked on CNH's online parts catalog though, and it only shows a part number for a single plate? I have seen pictures of all of the 3 above before, although the silver plated one was a prototype.
4)All of the Row-Crop 1206's had a Farmall plate on them. All of the standard tread (utility, industrial, and wheatland) models had the International plate. Also, there was the occasional Farmall that received the International plate because they were used by counties to mow roadside grass and do other tasks and were ordered with special or industrial equipment that made them fall under the industrial category.
5)That is what I have seen as well, but that too may have changed over the years.
