...it's time to blow taps for your clutch.

Actually, the fact that it's not completely disengaging makes me think its probably the throwout bearing rather than the clutch itself. But you're going to replace them both at once.

It's hard to tell over the internet, but unless there's something your not telling us, I don't think it likely you have damaged the gearbox.

The clutch shaft is another matter; so replace the clutch and throwout bearing BEFORE you work this tractor again so you don't bugger the shaft. It's the very devil getting one out of a Cub in comparison to a letter-series.

When you split the tractor, examine the clutch shaft carefully. If you don't see any visible damage you should be ok.

Others on these boards have been able to Dremel off small burrs and nicks, but you have to put the tractor back together to find out if you have been successful.
