Pot Metal?

I find it important to press the glass FIRMLY in place first, tighten until resistance is felt, and then WIGGLE the nut/swing arm ever so slightly as I bear down on it.

I've never had to use pliers; but I hasten to add I'm sure it doesn't matter whether you do or not as long as you don't overtourque.

I am appalled from Jim to learn this assembly is pot metal and I intend to treat it VERY carefully in the future!

I had the same problem with my H. I finally went to the CIH dealer and bought a new glass bowl. The old glass was flat on top where it seals, and the new replacement had a lip on the inside for the filter to fit in. The new plastic filters must be thicker than the old brass ones. ken
