I am having trouble removing the steering column from my H. I have loosened the bolts at the u joint but the two shafts will not separate. Do I use a big sledge hammer? CUT IT WITH A TORCH? It is probably an easy job but I am not seeing the solution. thanks for any help.

Al, take the bolt and nut completely out at the joint. There is probably a washer in the key slot as opposed to the original key. Then stick a pipe wrench on the front shaft and turn it out of the bolster. The two shafts should easily separate.
