The seat on my 51 H is not like most I have seen and wondered what the heck it is. It has two coil springs that sit in a channel horizontaly and a small shock. when the seat goes down the srings stretch (at least supposed to, my seat is all welded so no suspension) The springs have adjusters and it looks like a flip over type seat pan but not an uphostered one as there is no crimp to hold cloth. I tried to post pic of it but the photos are not working right now, I will try again later for that. The seats shown in the parts manual are not even close. I have seen a seat like this in the past but can't remember what it was on. Any Ideas

I am not sure, but to me it looks homemade. Any part numbers or brand names on it??

It sounds just like one that I removed from an H. Some kind of aftermarket gizmo that was supposed to be an improvement, but instead was worse. Mine is laying out in the scrap iron pile. I think I put a picture of it in the "help identify" section, but I can"t access that section right now.

I posted some pics of it on the help identify section. Any ideas on who made the seat....could it be a Monroe seat I have heard mentioned in the past? Also just curious as to why you guys took them off. The one on mine is all welded up tight, even the shock, so I don't have an idea on how good or bad they worked or what the problems they had are.
