I have a IH 504 with an IH loader wide front.Steering is tuff and when you fill the bucket, you can turn the wheel all you want but you only go straight. I loosened the hydraulics at the steering piston, when I turn rigth fliud comes out one line and left the other side. The bucket goes up and down just fine, rear hitch goes up down just fine and fluid is full. SN#2579 S-Y-FF

Power steering hydraulic cylinder probably needs to be rebuilt. Seal rings on piston are worn and not sealing, allowing oil to flow around the piston from one side of piston to the other instead of moving piston from side to side.
My parts book shows Cylinder Service Kit, # 386 694 R91. E-mail me ,I'll send you the page from parts book.

Well first i would have to put the gauge to it to see if you are low on steering pressure . IF ya have the correct pressure then i would have to look at the ft end and see if the thrust bearings are shot also check tire pressure and size of tires . If you are running a loader on a tractor your ft. tires should be at least 6 ply if not and 8 ply tire and tire pressure should be up around 50-60 lbs. if they are 4 ply anything over 40-45 lbs is to much air and will be to flat for steering and i don't care how much Hyd. pressure ya have she ain't going to turn .
