I'll agree. It looks almost identical to the Samson. I kinda figured the picture was from the late teens or early twenties. Thanks guys! I just wish it was still around.

Aaron got it right. Searched the tractor photos on YT and found the same bling-bling rear wheel design and gas tank/radiator layout.

It definately does not look like a Fordson to me. There is no hood between the gas tank and radiator. I think it may be a Sampson (Samson?), as they made tractors with this 'gap' instead of a hood. I have no idea how to determine the model. Good Luck! Aaron

Yeah, that gap through me off of the Fordson idea as well. Maybe it was supposed to have some sort of hood that is missing.

Hey how about that!

Does anyone know the make and model of the tractor? The very forlorn looking gentleman on it is my great grandfather. Grandma found it in a box with other pictures from the early 1900's. There was a picture of the church in town in the box with it. It is very similiar and has 1908 written on back. So that makes me think this one is from around the same time. I first thought it was a Fordson, but now I'm starting to think its too big. It does have a flat head 4 cylinder engine in it. It also looks like its missing the exhaust manifold. The house in the background is where grandma still lives. I think its kinda neat becasue this might very well have been the first tractor on the farm. Which would have been a reason for taking the picture.
