My original temp gauge on my M was not working anymore. My tractor also didn"t come with a volt or ammeter. So I bought a nice new gauge set and installed them. For anyone that has a temp gauge with numeric values... what is the nominal range or operating temps for these engines? I appreciate any and all help.

My M has an aftermarket temp gauge. Today when I was skidding logs with it I kept a close eye on the gauge as I had been bushhogging with it a few days before and have no way to blow the stuff out of the rad. It did fine and ran at 170-180deg like it always does. My H never gets above 130 and usually below that in cooler weather, but I suspect there is no thermostat in the engine or it has a bad one. Have a new one ordered for it.

Bob, Thanks for the note. I was puttering around this weekend but actually worked it for a while putting the boat in and out of the water. It barely got above 130 degrees. So I guess I might be able to take this off my worry list.
