I am just starting my first restoration. A 1953 Super C. I have hydraulic fluid in the oil pan & the resevoir for the hydraulic fluid is empty. Where do I start? Simple gasket or get the pump rebuilt?

You may need a speed-sleeve to cover the shaft area where the old seal rides. They're known for wearing a groove and then leaking into the engine oil. Here'a a parts breakdown on the Pesco hydraulic pump. Hal

Thank you! This is a better breakdown than the International dealer could come up with. I had to hunt for new o-rings elsewhere & put it together last night. Seems to be working just fine! Thanks again-this is a great breakdown of my pump.

Glad you have it fixed. You should make a copy of the parts breakdown on the pump. Hal

The seal in the hydraulic pump is shot, some have a seal some have an O-ring. If it has worn a groove in the shaft sometimes it can be repaired with a sleeve but I don't have the part number. You need to figure out which pump you have first, I have 4 C's and three different pumps.
