...city boy marries farmer's daughter, moves to the country, needs a tractor...
I don't know very much about tractors, but I've got my eye on a 1941 Model H. My questions are:
1. Can you put on a 3-point hitch? If so, are they readily available?
2. Are there hydraulic pumps available?
3. Frontend loaders? Plows?

I think you would be wasting big bucks for an H that would not be adequate when you got done with it. I have a 46 H which had a New Idea front end loader on it until I junked it last year. It did some things OK but was far from satisfactory. Plus steering was difficult.

An H is a good tractor for what it was designed to do, but it won't be as satisfactory as a tractor designed for 3-point, with a wide front and power steering.

Thanks. For the info, I suspected as much.
What was an H designed to do?

I'll take an H with a wide front and a 3pt any day over the overraited 8n Ford. I know I've got a SH with a 3pt on it.
