Messy floor, M culprit

I've constantly got oil on my shop floor. My worst leak is oil dripping out of the axle casting
where the left rear axle comes out. Is this from
being overfilled by the previous owner or is there
a seal that needs replacing? I've had the M for a year and I've been waiting all this time for the
level to decrease until it doesn't leak any more.
What is the likely problem and solution? Thanks.

I agree that the seal probobly needs to be replaced,But you can probably shoot some grease in the fitting on the cap and itll stop temporarly.Done that a couple of times and it seem to work until I got time to change the seal.

You need to replace the axle oil seal. Remove the wheel, then the four bolts and cap on end of the casting, you have your seal in the cap.
