Are most of you that have experience cutting your own (non motor)gaskets from blank stock or do you know of a supplier that has most everything? I am still in the tear down phase('49 H)and am concerned that most of the parts dealers in Denver have never heard the word farmall. I started to look for packing for the water pump but I just got blank stares. The IH dealer in Greeley seems too busy to be much help, and their prices are very high. It would be nice to order over the net. thanks for your advice!!!

I have had the same problem only our IH dealer has the packing but they are a little spendy. An old IH mechanic once advised me to use the string packing that was and maybe still used in some of the plumbing. I picked up a spool of the grafite packing several years ago at a surplus hardware store, that way you can use just as much as you need it works great. Ralph

Call Ken at Carter and Gruenewald Company. He is very helpful and knows about the older Farmalls. They are a Case/IH dealer. The number is (608)-455-2411. They are in Wisconsin and will ship UPS or prority mail. They also have a web site but you'll have to do a search. I've had good luck with them on my Super A.
