At one time someone who had my Super A changed to a 12v system. I'm thinking of going back to the original 6v system, what do I have to change and is it the way to go???

Bronco,
I think it is. You'll need to figure out if the conversion was done using a resistor between the battery voltage and the coil. If there is a resistor, you've still got a 6V coil, no resistor you'll have to change back to a 6V coil. The battery cables need to be at least 2AWG wire. Smaller 4 or 6 gague cables can't handle the higher current of the 6V system (twice the current of a 12V system). Clean all the connections, including the ground to the tractor frame and the mounting surfaces of the starter and engine surface where it mounts. If your 12V system is negative ground, you will need to reverse the ammeter leads for it to work properly (or just understand that it'll work backwards). Finally, if the system is using an alternator, you'll need to either change back to a generator or try to find a 6V alternator (they are out there, just hafta look hard). If still using the generator, you'll probably have to readjust or maybe replace the regulator so it puts out about 6.8V at max charge.
Then there's the light bulbs to change. Of course, the battery.
That should do it.

If you want to understand how the tractor is going to crank and run on 6 volts just turn off the lights. disconnect the gen/alt, install the 6 volt battery and heavy cables and fire it up. I run 12 coils on 6 volt cars leaving the resistor in place with no problem. If you are a purist and want the tractor to be original put a 6 gen on it provided you are satisfied with the above test. If you are more interested in dependability abort the above effort and stick with the 12 volts. If you have a problem with the 12 volts working correctly post you observations and we will assist

Changing a 6V tractor to 12V is patching the underlying problems that cause hard starting. Folks with little or no electrical knowledge replace battery cables with smaller gague ones designed for 12V and compound the problem. A properly setup and maintained 6V system will not only start and run the tractor reliably, it'll be original. A badly cobbled 12V conversion is worse than the original 6V system no matter how you look at it. Tractors from the 30's, 40's and 50's worked fine for years with 6V systems, there's really no need to change them, if you are willing to do a little detective work to cure their ills.

How do you make a B Allis Chalmers crank on 6 volts?
