Can someone help this novice out. I rebuilt the
carb on this W-4 1945 classic and I am not getting
fuel out of the carb. I checked the fuel bowl and
there is fuel in it,but trying to start it I dont
see fuel flowing into the carb. Did I do something wrong, float level maybe. Any idea's , of course
if I spray some gas in the carb it starts and runs
a couple seconds.

Bob, Have you checked the ventura tube? I had a similiar problem w/ my 49-h and found that the ventura was plugged. I was getting fuel in the bowl, but the fuel wasn't being picked up and sent back to the top of the carb. Hope you get it going! Tim

A W-4 is not a Farmall although many people call them that

That carb ought to be similar to the H. Did you blow out the channel where the fuel screen goes in? It may be that the needle is sticking.

With the needle closed, the back of the float should be horizontal. Are you definitely getting fuel through the gas line?
