I lost all hydraulic operation sometime between the last two times I ran my 300U. Fluid level is okay. I'm thinking perhaps the pump inlet screen is plugged, and would like to check and clean same. Where the heck is it? My guess is at the end of the low-pressure line to the pump. Am I right? Also plan on cleaning the breather for the reservoir. What else should I check before getting the pump rebuilt?

Big Fred, if you lost all hydraulic pressure I question if the clogged inlet would be the problem as this would be a gradual occurrence and I doubt if you would have a complete blockage. A significant blockage would cause cavitation and most likey you would hear a squealing noise. Sounds to me like a releif valve spring has broken or an O ring has blown and oil is being dumped back into the reservoir. I am not familiar with your specific tractor to assist further.

Thanks, that makes a lot more sense, now that I stop and think about it.
