Does $300 sound like a good price to pay for a Farmall M. My cousin has one that he wants to sell to me and he wants $300 for it. I don't know much about Farmall's so any info or pictures would be great. Would it be ok to use to farm 20 acres of corn and 20 acres of beans?

If it runs good and all the gears work and it has decent tires, it's worth at least $1000 and it can easily farm your 40 acres. Buy it.

Farmall M has around 45 horsepower and should farm your 40 acres just fine. $300 is a STEAL!! If the tractor is running, that is. If it is in running condition with decent tires (50% tread) it would be worth at least $750 depending on the condition of the tin also.

My advice is you better buy it fast before someone else does!!!

Steven

Thanks for the advice. I will call him up tonight and see if I can pick it up this weekend. I guess I got a good price because I'm family. Thanks,
Jay

How it the blank blank blank were you able to turn 87 horsepower out of an M? I've heard of overboars and carbs and hi-tech pistons cranking out high 60's, but 87?!?!?! I have a Super M, and if you could fill me in how you made your M perform so well, it would be appriciated.

From what I hear it will do fine. For a first tractor I guess I can't beat the price. Thanks.
