Interchange Book?

I'm the one who posted a question several days ago asking what motor/bellhousing combination would bolt up to my Schramm backhoe. It has an I4 transmission.
Is there a website or a book I can buy that would have casting and or serial numbers that would identify which components interchange or fit on certain models of tractor?
As I go about the task of trying to find the stuff I need to put my tractor back together, having a handy source to check the numbers will be indispensable. Thanks, Bill

If it is an I4 trans,I would think a H farmall engine should bolt in.

That was the answer I got with the question when I posted it the first time. It is probably right. The problem is that what I'm being told and what I'm seeing don't seem to correspond with each other. Other than having a 1953 Massey Harris tractor, I am new to the business of tractor parts. Thursday I was at a large farm equipment auction that is held in our area every year. I looked at 7 or more H tractors close up. None of them had the same type of bolt pattern that I have on the backhoe. I was looking at where the bellhousing bolts to the front of the transmisson. I don't know if the motor would bolt up to a different bellhousing that has the same bolt pattern at the transmission as mine. If it does, that means I need to find a different bellhousing than what I saw on this style of tractor. Also, the casting numbers on the transmission were different than mine.
I found a 340 Utility tractor that had the same casting numbers as mine. That one had the same bolt pattern as mine, too. I was going to bid on the tractor, but it went for too much.($900)
I belive that the answers people are giving me are correct based on the transmission I think is in my backhoe. Maybe it's not the transmission I think it is. I am getting that information out of the parts book that came with the machine.
That is the reason I think a book might help me. I'm going to make a tracing of the transmission bolt pattern and go to a used parts dealer on Monday with hopes that maybe he will have what I need, or at least give me some more information to help me complete my IH puzzle. I'm learning more about IH tractors everyday and meeting some very nice folks who try to help me. Thanks!
