Mixed Hydraulic Fluid

I mistakenly add about 1 gallon of “AW 46 Hydraulic Fluid” to the hydraulic system of my 560. I should have used “Hy-Tran” fluid. Sounds like the 560 hydraulic system holds a total of 16 gallons total. So, the tractor is sitting with a 15 to 1 mix of hydraulic fluids. Will I be okay or do I need to drain all the hydraulic fluid and replace with “Hy-Tran”?

I was looking through some of the other past comments, pertaining to hydraulic, and it sounds like there are several drain plugs. Do they have specific purposes or when draining the hydraulics… just open them all up?

Also, what is the recommended crank case oil for the 560 and how often should it be changed?

I appreciate any and all advice!

The oil you added will be ok unless you are in a very cold place as far as the engine oil and I am speaking from what I have learned over the years in the job as a equipment manager of a good sized company one of the best is a 15-40 mobile super 1300 series oil. I could give several reasons why to use it but then I would sound like a salesman if you want to know I will tell you why it is my choice. Mike

I won't comment on your hydraulic, but 1:15 ratio, I wouldn't think would hurt you.

As far as crankcase oil, some guys will tell you to get any 10w-30 oil at K-mart and dump it in the machine. I myself use Case/IH #1 oil. I use 15w40 and change oil once a year, and use Fleetguard oil filters. Check out Case/IH warranty on their new machines, and you'll see why I use IH stuff.
