well I didn't get the M at the auction, but I've got something I need help with identifying. I thought I had bought a Farmall B But I get to looking and I don't know what it is. It looks just like a "B" but it says international across the front instead of Farmall the hood is missing. Can anyone help me? Thanks Bill

You might have one that was sold as an industrial
model or by an industrial dealer. Sounds wierd
since it has the narrow front but I have seen
pictures of an A with "International" replacing
"Farmall." It had a heavy duty front axle as
compared to the A as we know it. Guy Fay's book
says an industrial might have a "Y" as a suffix
after the serial number. I think this is a long shot.

Does it have a wide stance rear end with 2 axles coming out from the tranny and drop boxes at the wheels? And a narrow front end? Then it is a B. If it just has axles with no drop boxes then it is a C or descendent thereof.

It could be an International B as IH put the International nameplate on tractors that were shipped out of the country.

Since the hood is missing is it possible that the grill might be from an International A. It would fit. I don't believe they ever made an International B, at least not in this country. I assume you know that a "A" has a wide front axel and a "B" has a narrow front end, and you are not confused. The serial number on an "A" will begin with the letters "FAA" and on the "B" they begin with "FAB". If by chance you do have a International "A" the serial number would begin with "IAA". You probably already know all of this. Good Luck

Bill, It sounds like you have a International 140.
It is basically the Farmall B with a few updates. The early hood style resembled the 560 and the latter style looked like the 504. Hope this helps.
