This was dad's pride and joy and the second M he owned. I cut my tillage teeth on this tractor and have fond memories of driving it on hot and cold SD days and nights. The Oliver plow got traded for a #60 3/16 plow and I thought that was the ultimate rig back then. I can still hear that thing cackle under a full load.

Wes: That is one sharp looking Super M. Plow is working well also, to plow down that vegation as well as it is. The combination of narrow front and land wheel help a lot. Some of these new farm managers could learn a lot from that organic plow down.

Hey, Bleedinred, what part of SD did you live in? Know where that '52 SM went or what its # was? (My $0.02 worth. jal-SD)

We farmed near Viborg in Turner county. The super was traded to the dealer in Tyndall in 1968 for the 706. Don't you farm near the "Corn Palace City"?

Great photo of a great tractor. Brings back memories of the hours I spent on my Uncle's M year ago. This is a good reminder that we all need to take more pictures.

And Label the pics. One of the best Christmas presents I ever got was an album of photos taken of me and my siblings when we were growing up.
Mom and Dad sat around for who knows how long, and sorted the pics... had copies made, and gave each of the six kids an album with all the old photos.
good luck

Love those old photos, Wes. Good to see original shots like that of how the old tractors looked in their prime.

Bleedinred, thanks for the photo post. I very much regret not taking more photos of people (and equipment) at work. Seems the only pictures I have are posed in photo studios - not at all like I remember the people.

I'll bet even an Oliver slated plow pulled hard in those conditions! Thanks Dick

Dick--we were all too busy working instead of taking pictures!
